K2 season wrap up
13:12 p.m. EDT Sep 4, 2003
September is here and fall is right around the corner. As the autumn season's Himalayan climbers are arriving in Base Camp with plump cheeks, clean-shaven faces, and fresh lungs, the summer's Karakorum climbers with their beards, blisters, and now emaciated bodies are just returning home for some much needed R&R.

Though the world's second tallest mountain remained unclimbed for the second season in a row, there was plenty of excitement as the K2 teams struggled to make upward progress in the high winds and some expeditions found success on other 8000ers.

Check out K2Climb’s preliminary Karakorum expeditions' results…

(More mountains, updates, and corrections to be made as the teams trickle back and file post-expedition reports.)
